Background Information
After surveying hospitals and healthcare systems around the United States, ISE identified a strong desire for a unified credentialing process for surgeons using robotic platforms. ISE hosted two Robotic Surgery Credentialing Consensus Conferences, bringing together representatives from institutions with extensive robotic surgery credentialing experience, surgical societies, medical associations, government, and industry. This group is developing standards for both initial and renewed credentialing of robotic surgeons to promote the highest quality and safety of surgical care.
